I'm ALL in!

On May 16th I wrote a big "I'm all in" on the mirror in our bathroom. Before this I was continually weighing the pros and cons and ups and downs of adoption. Mike had determined that we needed to either be all in or quit our pursuit of adoption. Knowing that we did desire to grow our family and that God desires for us to care for orphans I said I was all in.

Our adoption timeline so far:
2009 Luke was born and we assumed God would continue to add to our family since Luke came along so easily.
 2010 Miscarriage
2011-2012 Wondering and hoping to get pregnant again. Pursued infertility treatments for a short time.
August 2012 Looked into adoption and found out that adoption through the state is free. Started filling out paperwork and jumping through all the necessary hoops to get approved to adopt through the state.
April 2013 DSS adoption door closed
May 2013 Looked into different avenues of adoption ruling out international due to our age and the long wait time. Found Lifetime Adoption. Still wondering if we are too old or if this really is what is best for our family yet still wanting more children.
May 16, 2013 I'm all in! June 2013 Signed up with Lifetime Adoption and began filling out all the necessary paperwork.

So that brings us up to the present. We were impressed with Lifetime Adoption who matches adopting parents with birthmothers for open domestic adoptions. They care for the birthmothers physically and emotionally which we appreciate. It is still an up and down journey emotionally but we are all in and trusting God each step of the way.
